  • I always appreciate people who genuinely and humbly make things better for their community. And those who do it selflessly.

One of the things Byrd has done, among many things, is having the League of Women Voters inform and educate us in various public forums of local politics and the politicians running for office. This may not sound like a big deal, but it really is, especially in a representative democracy. We get an opportunity to see closely who is representing us. If not for the LWV doing performing this essential function, who would? Remember, they do it out of the love for service and community. Byrd and others volunteer their time; no one gets paid a dime.

    Congratulations, Byrd. This is well-deserved.
    Carry on!

  • Byrd was my daughter’s Brownie leader almost 30 years ago. This woman has donated more time and energy to making this community a better place to live. I can’t think of a more deserving woman to receive the 2017 Nonprofit Leader Achievement Award. My daughters both remember her fondly. She instilled great values and I am so glad that she and Cricket were their leaders.

  • Congratulations Byrd!

  • Congrats Byrd! I’m lucky enough to know her personally, and she’s a lovely lady. They don’t even cover her expert fudge making and calligraphy skills, as we see at Christmas each year. If everyone could donate a fraction of the time she has this area, what a difference we could make. Cheers, Byrd, and well deserved.

  • Double speak outside of cheek

Wonderful woman. Deserved award. Wish there were more like her in the world. Congratulations.

  • ¡Felicidades, Byrd! ¡Te lo mereces!
