[UPDATE 8:02 p.m.] Missing Eureka Boy Seen in Arcata Yesterday, Says Family

Jesus Tejeda featureAccording to the sister of a 14-year-old boy, Jesus Tejeda, missing since October 27 when he was dropped off at Eureka High School, he has been seen in Arcata.

Mariana Tejeda tell us that Jesus was seen yesterday between 2:40 and 3 p.m.  According to a new posting on her Facebook page that she directed us to, “Three witnesses state that they saw Jesus walking from the CVS parking lot in Arcata and headed in the direction of the plaza.Jesus did not dispute his identity and told the witnesses that he had spoken to his family, which is not true. Jesus was with a male in his 20’s with a beard and a ball cap.”

Mariana said that that the family is asking that if anyone sees Jesus, “Please call 911 immediately..my brother could be at risk.”

If anyone has any less urgent information, they can call the private investigator, Chris Cook at (707) 839-7422 or the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at  (707) 445-7251.Jesus Tejeda

UPDATE 3:30 p.m.: I spoke to Chris Cook, the investigator. She said that the witness called her “immediately” after speaking with the person she believed to be Jesus. Cook said the witness was extremely credible. “They called me first thing,” she said. “They knew information that had not been released about how he looked.”

In addition, Cook said there was a separate witness in Arcata around the same time who reported seeing Jesus to an Arcata Police officer.

She asked that people in the area please be on the lookout for the boy.

UPDATE 8:02 p.m.: Jesus Is Home!!!

Why in the world if he was seen in Arcata wasn’t anyone on the phone calling 9-1-1 or the police? Just wondering why not do the right thing when a missing person is spotted. Something seems Amiss here. Just saying.

it looks like the people who saw him either called 911 or contacted the family. Now the family is saying that if anyone else sees him call 911

The 14 year old “Jesus WAS a male in his 20’s with a beard and a baseball cap?” Having a hard time comprehending that line. Hoping the best.

Hopefully a good person is caring for him until he decides to let his family know what’s going on. It’s a dangerous world out there. His family must be beside themselves with worry.

If they’re a ‘good person’ then why wouldn’t they get in touch with his family? Is it possible they don’t know he’s a 14 yr old runaway?

? Is the juvenile missing, a run away, or just doesn’t want to go home. He could be avoiding a crappy home life. Maybe realizing that the grass isn’t always greener will make him miss “home”, and he’ll figure it out himself.
The best lessons I was taught as a youth were hard learned. If your kin care enough about you to go through the trouble of Facebook pages, Kymkemp posts, and my lazy ass commenting, you are lucky.
There’s a lot of kids whose folks don’t give a shit.
As someone who has regrets, quit worrying your loved ones, contact them, it will make their day.

Oh Arcata. They should have no problem finding him. The family just needs to go to hang out for a day on the Plaza. Talk to the street kids. Visit their camps. Offer candy bars. They will fish him out quick. I’m not joking, this helped me find a perp who hurt my relative. Found him 11 hrs later. If ma n sister look, they will more than likely get help. If not found the first time, repeat! No problem finding someone in Arcata, especially a 14 yr old boy. No one wants to get in trouble for harboring a minor.

Sounds like he is making the choice not to contact or go back to his family. Maybe something that they do not agree with or a lack of some sort of support from them. Best to talk things out and come to an agreeable solution.
