[ UPDATE 5:54 p.m. on Saturday] Three Native American Males Sought in Armed Robbery on Bald Hills Road
Just before 4 p.m., a man in Arcata called law enforcement stating that he had been informed by one of his workers that his marijuana grow on Bald Hills Road was being robbed. According to scanner traffic, the man stated that he had “20-30 workers” on the farm.
Later, according to the dispatcher, the grower received word that the robbers were three Native American males wearing bulletproof vests and carrying firearms. The suspects reportedly stole two of the vehicles on the farm–a white GMC truck with a shell and a black Explorer. One of the vehicles was attached to a trailer which contained marijuana. The vehicles were last seen headed westbound on Bald Hills Road towards Orick.
Below is the officers’ safety BOLO that went out over the scanner.
UPDATE 5:54 p.m. on Saturday: A new BOLO that went out described the incident in slightly more detail. The white pickup is a 2001 Chevrolet lifted with a Burning Man’s sticker and the black 1996 Ford Explorer with Washington plates. There was also a van. Note: this update had an earlier piece that we didn’t manage to catch on tape. The BOLO also indicates that there was only one Native American seen and he had tattoos.
