DHHS Invites Community to Review, Comment On Final Local Agency Management Program

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Department of Health & Human Services:

The Humboldt County Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Environmental Health (DEH) is inviting the community and other agencies to review and comment on the final Local Agency Management Program (LAMP). The LAMP has been developed with the input of local stakeholders in response to the State Water Resources Control Board’s Water Quality Control Policy for Siting, Design, Operation and Maintenance of Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (OWTS Policy).

Once approved by the Board of Supervisors, the LAMP will be submitted to the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board for final approval. The LAMP must demonstrate that Humboldt County maintains an onsite wastewater treatment system program that protects public health and water quality.

The Humboldt County Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems Regulation and Technical Manual (RTM) will replace the Humboldt County Sewage Disposal Regulations and appears as Appendix 1 of the LAMP.

Proposed changes to portions of the Humboldt County Code relating to sewage, onsite wastewater treatment systems and sewage cleaning appear as Appendix 2 of the LAMP.

The LAMP is available for review at http://www.humboldtgov.org/685/Land-Use-Program, DEH’s office in Eureka at 100 H St., Suite 100, and at the Eureka, Willow Creek and Garberville libraries.

The schedule for presentation to the Board of Supervisors is as follows:

  •  Oct. 24, 2017: Introduction of Humboldt County Code Title VI Div 1 and 2 proposed changes
  •  Nov. 7, 2017: Adoption of Humboldt County Code Title VI Div 1 and 2 proposed changes
  •  Nov. 7, 2017: Adoption of the LAMP.

It’s not that often we get to witness the Delphi Technique before the seminar.
The questions asked will be formed to suit the answers they have already provided. We are in control of you.
