While a Helicopter Circled, Humboldt County Deputies, and Arcata Police Surrounded Home Containing Possible Homicide Suspect

At approximately 6:30 p.m., according to Arcata Police, they assisted the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department in an operation near Ball Court off of Ernest Way in Arcata. A neighbor tells us that a helicopter circled overhead while down below officers with guns drawn yelled for the occupants to come out of a home there. According to the scanner, the person was wanted in connection with a homicide and a robbery and had made suicidal statements.

The neighbor said that three young guys eventually came out of the residence “with bulging bags.” From scanner traffic, we believe that was about 7:40 p.m. Then, the neighbor said, the cops swarmed the three and arrested all of them in front of the garage.

Arcata Police sent us to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office for more information. At this point, the Sheriff’s Department has said they will get back to us with more information.
