All of potter valley and roads leading to it south to hwy 20 are now being evacuated. The scanner had a lot of refusals. Please don’t put protecting your things above your life

Hi. The entire neighborhood is “outa there.” By dark, there were 35-40 vehicles and lots of folks at the bottom of the Mountain. We didn’t seem to be missing anyone, and it’s hard to imagine who on earth would refuse to leave. Dispersal was orderly and everybody was over on the “slow side.” Then the evacuation of the entire valley was announced, and now here we sit at various relatives or friends in several places.
Waiting.
I hope we can remain looking forward, and not looking back, but it feels really hard right now af

Glad you are safe, Anon! I hope the fire spares you and your neighbors. I just wanted to say that some folks are refusing to leave. I can hear on the scanner as emergency personnel call the information back to dispatch. They say an address and they say whether they refused to leave or not. There are a number of refusals.

Bizarre. They must be some WAY out folks… (5 minutes later) OK, we’re in touch with them. They can get out via Horse Mountain if necessary. I can understand that. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

May everyone (animals included) in the path of these horrible fires be safe and able to go back to an intact home soon.

Can anyone tell me the status of the residents at 11870 West RD? That’s my uncles place and I haven’t been able to get a hold of him. His name is Mike Doody. This is a picture of where his house is. The top is the pin and the bottom is the fire map.

Tiffany, that side of the valley looks pretty grim. Don’t despair if the phones or internet don’t work. They both go in and out. West Road evacuated first, so I’m hoping your uncle calls you. Keep the faith.

Does anyone know the status of the Ogles? Are they threatened by the fire?

I went the Willits community meeting this morning at the high school. According to the Calfire spokespeople, no homes were lost on the valley floor sice the evacuation last night. The big question is what happens this weekend, when the winds are supposed to kick back up again.

Hey everyone,

I have a grandmother who lives on East Side Rd in Willits. I am 8 hours away, and she cannot drive. Are people evacuating from this part of town? She only has a land line, no cell, no internet, no TV. If anyone can update me on the situation, I would really appreciate it. I have been able to call her, but she doesn’t know what’s going on. Thank you!!

They aren’t evacuating East Hill Road, and Willits seems to no longer in imminent danger, provided the winds don’t shift. At the same time, the air quality is very unhealthy, and PG&E shut off the gas lines to most homes in Willits as a precaution.

I went to Martinez yesterday. On my way back I was passing Ukiah and the call for complete evacuation of potter valley came on the radio. It was dark. The smoke was thick and I could smell like plastic was burning. My nose started running I got a migraine my head was pounding
I was sick all day today. I can’t imagine how sick the people around the areas burning and smoking are getting through it. I pray for all of them. ❤️
