Paving on the Mattole Road Is Complete

Map where paving will occur

Red line shows where paving work started and stopped on the Mattole Road.

“The paving work has been completed on the Mattole Road and there will be no more all-day road closures,” according to Brian Merrill, Senior Engineering Geologist with the North Coast Redwoods District of California State Parks. “State Parks will be recovering the signs at Honeydew and Panther Gap…  Some shoulder work remains this month but will be done with traffic control and pilot cars.”

Merrill would like drivers to remember that the speed limit through the Redwoods is 25 MPH and the road will be slippery when wet so take it slow.
