‘Don’t Pick Up Hitchhikers,’ Warns Lt. Fridley of the Sheriff’s Office After Traffic Collision Leaves Suspect Vehicle Damaged

Lt. Mike Fridley of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department warns Southern Humboldt residents not to pick up hitchhikers or to otherwise conduct business with strangers from out of the area after what appears to be two recent alleged marijuana deals which ended violently.

“This is too much of a coincidence,” he said as his department partners with the California Highway Patrol and Fortuna Police Department’s K-9 officer this evening to try and track down two black males that fled from a traffic accident involving a silver sedan on Hwy 101 between Redway and Garberville about 4:30 p.m. Fridley said that the accident today appears to be connected to marijuana deal that went wrong.

Video provided by a reader.

The sedan in this accident looks very similar to one that, yesterday, was used to flee from another violent failed marijuana deal in which a man was struck with a firearm and thrown from the balcony of an Inn by two “heavier set African-American adults wearing blue jeans.”

“I would be concerned that they are looking for another vehicle to get out of the area,” Fridley explained. “Don’t be picking up any hitchhikers.”

And don’t be doing any marijuana deals with strangers.

Jeeze, Louise! don’t do deals with ANYONE you don’t know, Black, White, Green, or whatever! This is a dirty, dangerous business, and here is hoping the cops are not having to clean up too many more bodies…

Might want to come up with a safer way to do business! Or another occupation entirely!

Or just sell smaller quantities…when people rob other people of their weed,I notice there are usually a good amount of lbs….they target people who can supply a larger quantity…sell 1 lb maybe 2 and pretend thats all u have …that is how i would do it if i were selling weed….if they think u cant get that much at a time then u not worth it to them to rob but i would not boast of having large amounts, no way…just saying

Get real dude , 12percent of the population commits half the violent crimes in America . Facts don’t care about your feelings .

Nothing racist about pointing this out, and to be fair the aspects of causality are complex to say the least. Still, the statistics are what they are.

It’s poor on poor victimization? There are more poor whites in the us than there are black people in total . How are they committing half the violent crimes at 12 percent of the population ? 12 percent really means 6 percent male and 6 percent female . Females aren’t as violent as males and the prison system reflects that . So we’re really talking about 6 percent of the population committing half of the violent crime in America

The statistics establish proximal factors, not causality. As for the theory you cite about poverty, it seems logical but doesn’t bear out in the numbers. Watch the vid I posted, it gets into that. For whatever reason, that 12% is simply more violent even when controlled for economic status.

Agreed about Molyneux generally, but in the particular case of this video he did post a pretty comprehensive list of sources. URL is in the video description, https://board.freedomainradio.com/topic/46089-youtube-the-truth-about-crime/

I’m sure there’s room to discredit his interpretation here and there, but the issue in broad strokes is still the same … 12% of the population, majority of violent crime. Even if you arbitrarily correct for what you feel is a good representation of systemic bias in law enforcement, the numbers still say the same thing.

No doubt the causal factors are numerous, and likely include some that are taboo to mention such as cultural norms and attitudes in the AA community. How this came about and why it persists is also complex of course, but we need to get past the taboos and rigid ideology that prevent us from having an honest discussion about the facts. Who knows, maybe behavioral epigenetics actually does play a role, but good luck getting an evidence-based conversation about that off the ground. BLM .. rah rah .. all heel to the dominant narrative.

Ya mean a more neutral source like The Daily Kos or Huffpo? What a joke. Stephan Molyneaux is against war and America’s meddling foreign policy, against the war on drugs, has consistently pointed out the hypocrisy of Republicans, supports the rights of gays. He is neither a Republican or a Democrat.
You don’t stick with “folks whose reputation is more solid”. You stick with liberals whose world view comports with yours. You know nothing about Stephan Molyneaux other than what a quick google search confirmed what you already wanted to believe. That is just intellectually lazy. You haven’t dismantled a single argument that he has made; his arguments are cited and based on facts. You automatically lose the argument when you attempt to denigrate someone’s “reputation” with nary a fact to discredit him OR his arguments.
You are a journalist with the moral responsibility to seek the truth and report it without bias, even if your peers say you are mean and call you a racist. Let the facts lie where they may. When you claim not to have time to research something so important, it strikes at your credibility. If you are going to constantly make excuses for violent black behavior, you should make time to do the research and be positive that you are not defending the indefensible. Because if you are wrong, you are whitewashing a VERY serious problem in society. And that will only perpetuate this very real problem. That is immoral and wrong. And doing it because your afraid of what people will think is just selfish.

“No, I don’t consider either the Daily Kos or Huffpo solid sources.”

Then why do you cite them?

“I’m under no obligation to research Stephan Molyneaux”

Indeed, you are under no obligation; you were the one who claimed to have researched him on your own. If you are going to denigrate him and disregard the GOVERNMENT statistics he provided, you have a moral and journalistic obligation to explain why what he says is not credit worthy. However, you are free to ignore that moral obligation.

“I’m quite certain that if I were to lay out a number of sources that I find credible you would choose which ones you had time to lay out the precious minutes of your life investigating. I get little enough time to exercise, spend with friends and family etc. that on the behest of an anonymous commenter I must drop what I’m doing and obediently read a man who is not considered a credible source by many people.”

We are all busy. You don’t have to “drop what you’re doing and obediently read” anything. You are free to gratuitously attack anyone you want. And yes I choose carefully which articles I spend my precious time on. Like you, I have a life. However, I’ve read every link you’ve posted on the subject of black violence and taken the time to debunk them rather than flippantly disregard the source. I spend ample time researching both sides of the argument because it’s important. And I’m not a journalist.

” Also, I want to point out that at no time do I make excuses for the violent behavior of anyone. BUT I also do not wash an entire race or gender with the actions of a few.”

You consistently make excuses for violent black crime by blaming it on poverty. At no time ever, do you point to the disproportionate crime numbers and call out the problem for the epidemic that it is. A cursory look at the facts would show you that poverty is not the cause of the problem. But you’re obviously not interested in that so you baselessly attack a man as uncredible without any reason other than: “not considered a credible source by many people”. NEWSFLASH- everybody is considered not credible by a number of people. You cannot and will not give any example of why Stephan Molyneaux is not credible. And that is the reason why I will continue to find him credible until it is proven otherwise. I base my opinions on a preponderance of the evidence. As a journalist, you should do the same. That is what lends you credibility.

“(I find it incredibly rude that you think you get to tell me what to do with my free time. You don’t pay me a cent. You, of course, are under no obligation to find what I do credible or valuable and I certainly understand that you might choose to go elsewhere if you don’t think I am fair or balanced–in fact, at the moment, I’m rather hoping that happens. But don’t you dare try to bully me.)”

I NEVER, at any point, told you how to spend your free time. I wouldn’t read your site if it had no value either. Pointing out your baseless attack on Stephan Molyneaux, a man with deep convictions, and reminding you of your moral responsibility as a journalist to research and uncover the truth regarding crucial societal issues like black violence, may unnerve you, or perhaps make you feel inferior as a journalist, but it IS NOT bullying by any stretch of the imagination. I apologize if my message comes off crass, but I don’t know of a polite way to convey the message. Undoubtedly, the only thing you hear is: you are not acting in a moral or responsible way and you are not doing your job. And that is why you are so defensive. Again, I’m sorry if I come off crude, but don’t shoot the messenger. If I point out a booger hanging from your nose, it’s no reason to be mad. Should I let you walk around with that booger hanging out? There is a serious problem in Humboldt of blacks violently attacking whites and it’s growing. PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DIE. When Josiah Lawson was stabbed, everybody, including you, railed on about the problem of widespread racism in Humboldt even though there is scant evidence. Somehow though, when the shoe is on the other foot, and there IS evidence, everybody just cowers and ignores the problem. They say obvious shit like: white people commit crime too. That kind of turning a blind eye for fear of being labeled a racist will ensure this problem grows. You are free to run your website any way you see fit. And I, at least for now, am free to address the growing problem and point out the truth.

Look at the racial makeup of the rippers this weekend. Almost entirely caucasian. The video you link to sites only a single source, a white nationalist radio show. You are wrong about this issue specifically, and about the world in general.

You didn’t read the post well, the sources linked are all FBI, census, etc. Sure Molyneux is a jerk but what are you rejecting here? It sounds like the message doesn’t align with your ideological world view, and so you choose to discredit the messenger and don’t bother looking at the data.

Maybe Tommy Sotomayor would strike you as more credible instead .. lol

Many of the people who frequent this blog seem to be, more or less, suffering from varying levels of mental retardation and rage. Just a casual observation. And to the reader of this statement, if you don’t think that the above applies to you, there is probably a significant chance that it does. Cheers.
