CHP Wants to Show You How to Use Your Child’s Car Seat

Eureka, Calif. –The Humboldt County Child Passenger Safety Program in partnership with the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Target, and Lisa Fryrear of State Farm will conduct a child car seat checkup event Friday, September 22 in Eureka.
During this event, certified child car seat technicians will assist the public by demonstrating and teaching the proper way to install an infant or child car seat. Technicians will perform safety inspections for all children in the vehicle who are required to be in a car seat or a seat belt.
WHO: Parents, grandparents, caregivers
WHAT: Child car seat checkup event
WHEN: Friday, September 22, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
WHERE: Target Parking Lot in Eureka
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to bring their vehicle and owner’s manual, car seat & instruction booklet, and their child. Plan to spend a minimum of 30 minutes at the event, possibly more if there are several children.
