Arcata Canine With Road Rash Found in SoHum

A SoHum resident found this handsome guy running along the bluffs by Renner near Garberville. “He has road rash and I can’t keep him at my house,” she said. The dog has “Arcata tags but no personal contact info. Please help me find his home.”

The arcata city license should make it possible for Arcata city staff to identify the owner.

Also, I could be wrong but it looks like he has a round yellow tag which is similar to my dogs’ microchip tags.

It also looks like there’s a rabies vaccination tag which will also identify the owner, either through the county or the veterinarian who administered the vaccine.

If that’s your dog please secure the dog so it can’t jump or fall out if you must have it riding in the bed of a truck. And get the dog a collar that isn’t a torture device. Spending a little time training a dog will eliminate the need for any collar like that. Pitbulls are very intelligent so it doesn’t take much time to train one. It’s good to see the dog is wearing tags but putting a phone number on one of them is always a good idea.

He is lucky that a kind soul offered him a ride. Dogs are about the only reason I can put up with my fellow man.
