This is a press release from the Boys and Girls Club:

Revving engines exhaust and chrome will be all the rage as Cruz’n Eureka sets stage on the streets of Eureka from the 7th to 9th of September. The event, the Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods’ second largest fundraiser of the year features three days of automotive activities and a car show with over 200 vintage, hot rod, classic, custom, present day and special interest cars showcased.

The rumbling begins on Thursday at 6 pm with a poker run through the heart of Eureka along with a show n’ shine and outdoor concert to follow at the Foot of Commercial Street. Friday morning starts with a show n’ shine on Commercial Street between 4th & 5th and into the night the rev’n continues with the cruise through Old Town where chrome crazy, carburetor testing hot rodders love to rev their high horsepower engines to the delight the crowds. After the cruise at 7:30 pm a one-night-only screening of the 1970’s classic car flick The Gumball Rally will be shown on the big screen at the Eureka Theater for just $5 a ticket.

Those who want to “cruise” their own set of wheels can join in the Poker Run at the Red Lion Hotel which is open to all motorists for $5 a hand and the “cruz” on Friday night at 6 pm cost only $10.

On Saturday the big event begins at 7 am as the colorful rods and rides are strategically parked in Old Town on 2nd street to be enjoyed by all. The car show is free to spectators from 10 am to 4 pm and includes a street fair, swap meet and raffles for both spectators and participants.

27 of the Best cars will win trophies at Eureka’s show along with awards for Best in Show, Best Interior, Original “Survivor”, Best Paint, Best Work in Progress and the Long Haul award for the car that travelled the greatest distance to attend.
