PG&E Workers Checking Lines by Foot and ATV

Starting this week, crews working for Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) are conducting routine studies, on foot, along an electric transmission line that runs through Humboldt County and parts of West Trinity County. Contract crews are conducting inventories of PG&E assets throughout the month and may need to access private property along the line to complete the work. In areas of rough terrain, unmarked all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) may be used.

This work will help PG&E maintain and improve the overall electric system reliability for its customers in Humboldt and Trinity Counties. Crews may have photography and other recording equipment and will work seven days a week between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.  However, weather and other factors affecting safe working conditions may impact the work schedule.

The line runs from Eureka to Weaverville through Maple Creek, Big Bar, Junction City and Hyampom.

Whenever possible, our crew members will introduce themselves at your location and answer any questions you may have about the work. PG&E contractors (not PG&E employees) will be wearing safety vests, most likely orange and yellow, and always carry photo identification cards.

The contractor vehicles and ATVs will have placecards on dashboards (pictured below). If you have any questions about personnel on your property or want to check for PG&E’s presence in your community, please call 1-800-743-5000.
