Eureka Police responded to a bomb threat this morning. The call came in at 10:47 a.m. that a disgruntled tenant wanted to blow up a building on the 300 block of E Street, Brittany Powell, a spokesperson for the EPD said.

Officers responded and began negotiating with the tenant. The man had barricaded himself in his room. The officers spoke to him and he surrendered. “The situation has been resolved safely,” said Brittany Powell.

The suspect was taken away in a stretcher but was not injured according to the EPD.

No items that could be used to blow up the building were located.

All he wanted was a free ride to the hospital. Thank you Covered California.
