A fire began burning about 4:30 p.m. alongside Hwy 101 north of Willits near Ryan Creek Road. The fire began on the east side of the road and is already burning hot. One trucker tells us that he could feel “the heat through the window of my peterbilt.”

2017-08-07 18:00 Just heard on the scanner that CalFire will keep a water tender and a small crew to watch for spots, but it sounds like they have the Oil Well Hill/north of Willits Hwy 101 fire under control.
