So what?

I was on the receiving end of armed robbery. I appreciate being informed when someone is floating around with a potential firearm in their pants. So?

Everyone has a “potential firearm in their pants”. For those that actually do, most don’t commit crimes. Perhaps there’s more to the report, but just because there is a gun does not mean there’s a criminal.

Most law abiding gun owners don’t keep their gun in their waist band.

Actually they do a lot of people use inside the waste ban holsters or tuckable holsters. I have had the wind of a car move my shirt and expose more than I wanted.

I thought open carry is no longer legal in CA (CCW or no)? If it’s clearly visible, that’s open carry.

Do you carry a firearm in the waistband of your pants? Criminal or not, I want to be aware.

Look. Its called concealed carry for a reason ( i know). You shouldnt be able to tell if someone is carrying a gun, even if they are. Thats the law. You can carry if u have a permit. If someone can tell your carrying, thats against the law. Look at california CCW laws if you want to inform your self. PS. Theres alot in humboldt! “The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun”.

In most free states that is not even a crime.

But someone running around with a gun in their pants isn’t something condusive to a good situation. If this guy shot someone and you read there were reports of some dude running around in the area with a gun in his waist band prior to the shooting I bet you’d be the first to say, “why didn’t the cops do anything? Surely he was up to no good”.

Would it help if the alert said they guy was brown?

Nobody is saying this is a crime. However legal it might be for a licensed gun owner to carry a gun, it is pretty obvious to anyone with a brain that THIS particular situation – A punk in a black hoody, on foot in a residential & hospital area, with a gun sticking out of his waistband, in a small town that has become meth/heroin central – is HIGHLY suspicious.
Fortuna’s underbelly drug scene brings with it much violence as addicts become desperate for their next fix. Theft supports the habit, and guns support theft. Better to ask questions now rather than later. If he’s legal & legit, politely send him on his way.
It is the job of the PD to investigate highly suspicious situations to maintain public safety.
I would like place a big honkin’ bet that if/when they find this guy – he does not have a concealed weapon license – or even a firearm license.
Don’t try to use your blind gun rights logic on ME. Let’s keep it real.

A weed grower trying to zap a witness to their long list of crimes?

No matter the crime you can always connect the motivation to marijuana.

True. It usually starts out with booze, meth, and heroin and then escalates to marijuana. Nothing gets past you.

Glad you see the light on marijuana being the same as other drugs addicts consume to hide from the reality they can no longer face.

Lots of innocent folks work in that hospital. No one within a hospital wants a man with a gun to be around, at any time.

Hospital employees are there to care for you and your family. Please don’t threaten, rob, or kill us. Thanks!

Probably the same crazy person that is leaving Kingpin explosive Ordinances all around town lol. For goodness sakes people, if you want to be scared of something be scared of smoking, obesity, hospitals and car wrecks.

His last name is Holmes. His older brother was John, a well known movie actor, who died of aids a few years ago. It`s not a gun in his pants; it`s what some may refer to as a “deformity”

IF you commit a crime while using a weapon, your sentence is increased.
It is now a crime to wear a hoodie over your shower head while wearing a tool that can keep you safe against those who wish to do you or others harm?
I’d be more suspicious of that guy in the business suit.
