Southern Humboldt Youth Football Searching for Players

Press release:

Southern Humboldt Bulldogs spring 17As of the July 5th meeting, the Bulldogs had received only a handful of application packets for the upcoming season, football and cheer included.
Board members have been working throughout the off season fundraising, handing out application packets, and putting the word out that the organization needs players and coaches.
We are grateful for the return of veteran coach Corky Coffelt, who recently traveled to Sacramento to do the Heads Up Football Safety Training. We are still in need of players. The
past few years have been a struggle to pull teams together, making it a challenge to start the season off strong. This is a trend in rural communities.

July 31st is the first scheduled practice at Redway School at 5:00pm. This will be our deadline to turn in applications. It is common for teams of players to show up at the first
practice, we are hopeful that there might be a positive turnout. If not, then the Bulldogs will be taking a break from the field this fall.

Bulldogs is also offering a Flag Football Camp the week of July 31st in Redway from 9-1. There are scholarships available and no player will be turned away. There has been strong
interest in the camp so we are glad to offer this opportunity to the community.

Registration packets are available at Allsport in Garberville. Please make sure your packet has a physical from your doctor and a birth certificate.
