[UPDATE 1 p.m.] Vegetation Fire in Eureka Near First Street

A vegetation fire broke out early this afternoon near the intersection of First and V Streets in Eureka. According to Photographer/reporter Mark McKenna, this appears to be a homeless campfire that got out of control.


UPDATE 1 p.m.: The fire is controlled.

Should set up an extended perimeter and let the fire burn off the vegetation.
