Three Teenage Girls Located Safe After Rescue Operation Began

Humboldt County Sheriff badgeOn Monday June 19, 2017 at about 1507 hours the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a possible drowning at Camp Kimtu in Willow Creek. It was reported a group of three teenaged females were traveling down the river on tubes, yelling for help. Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Willow Creek Fire and the California Highway Patrol responded to the incident location for a possible search and rescue. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Special Services, Hoopa Tribal Police Department and the United States Coastguard were also requested to assist. Prior to the arrival of the additional resources all three subjects were located. The subjects were located on the river bar by a good Samaritan who transported them back to their vehicle. All three subjects were unharmed.

The tv coverage from Redding was laughable. First, the male announcer either misread the script or someone miswrote it, then they showed footage of a rushing river. Only problem was it looked nothing like the Trinity…looked more like the river that runs through Redding…no hills, let alone mountains.
Glad they’re safe.
