It’s the area along the waterfront roughly from the big lumberyard over to about “A” St in Eureka. It used to have old train engines parked on it. The site that Arkley perioducally floats development plans for.

Thank you. I found a reference to the developer’s website when searching for the location. They sure have impressive illustrations of their proposal. Reminds me of Coronado!

Thank you for this article. I had no idea there was so much history associated with this location!

If they ever do construct anything on this ground, I hope they will consider the possible effects of liquefaction of the underlying landfill during an earthquake.

Another arsonist??
There has been a car or structure fire every day or so for the last week it seems.
Is that the case kym or is it just a lot in the last month?

OK – Think I got it now: ” Called the Balloon Track (or tract) for its long looping railroad track, this site is slated for development as the Marina Center” – Thank you.
