Body Found in Klamath River Identified

Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

Humboldt County Sheriff badgeOn Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at about 2030 hours, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Communication Center received a report from a fisherman who had discovered a body floating in the Klamath River, Weitchpec. Deputies responded to the location approximately 10 miles west of Weitchpec in the vicinity of Young’s Bar.

The decedent has been positively identified as 61 year old, James Etzkorn of Willow Creek. At this time, there are no apparent signs of foul play. An autopsy has been scheduled. This is an active investigation.

The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office is asking if you have any information that could be helpful in investigation Etzkorn’s death to please contact them at 707-445-7242.
