Two Suspected of Assaulting a Man Sending Him to the Hospital With Minor Injuries

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Daniel Brian Asbury, age 39

On Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at about 2114 hours, The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 5700 block of Wymore Road in Arcata for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, Deputies located a male victim, age 43, lying in the grass off the shoulder of the road. It was reported that two male suspects, both known to the victim, approached and assaulted the victim regarding a previous altercation. The victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Nothing is going to happen. if the D/A doesn’t think they can prosecute beyond reasonable doubt they are not going to bother with it.all they need is one person to lie ,and say they were with them at the time of the attack .The victim gets sorry about your bad luck .your word against there’s .The prep gots
more rights than the victum gets To me that is just wrong ,but so true.

Between the two mug shots, one almost looks like a normal snapshot, while the other one looks like our typical green mug shot with blasted out highlights, which I always figured was made that way to put the captured parties in the, shall we say, worst light. But the other one almost looks like a normal snapshot. Are they from two different cities? Pretty sure the local mugshots are the always-overly-green-with-blasted-out-highlights ones.

Thanks, yeah, they are much better. The other camera made everyone look like a criminal.
