UPDATE Friday: Motorcycle Over the Edge of Hwy 101 North of Leggett

According to scanner traffic at approximately 2:15 p.m., a motorcycle reportedly went over the edge of Hwy 101 near Dora Creek north of Standish-Hickey State Park. An ambulance, Technical Rescue, and other emergency vehicles are responding. Please be careful in the area.
UPDATE: A black Honda motorcycle is about 200 feet down the embankment.

UPDATE Friday: The 52-year-old male driver from Eureka received only minor injuries, according to a CHP spokesperson. The motorcyclist had been driving southbound on 101 when for reasons still under investigation about 1.5 miles south of Bridges Creek, the driver and his Harley went off the west side of the road about 200 feet. He was wearing his helmet.

It never fails every year during Redwood Run at least one biker wrecks!!! I suppose it’s to be expected with that many all at once in the same area, maybe some haven’t ridden in a while, not to mention as someone else commented all the new asphalt around & this unexpected rain doesn’t help either!!! Hopefully this is the last at least bike wreck we read about!!! As Gazoo said, Stay Safe!!!

Sometimes on group rides, less skilled riders end up riding faster than they should in an effort to keep up. Leaders should make more frequent stops than one normally would when riding alone, so that stragglers can keep up.
