[UPDATE: Contained] Vegetation Fire Near Fort Seward

wildland fire featureA vegetation fire is burning in southeastern Humboldt near Fort Seward. The fire is located at Casterlin Road near Alderpoint Road and is currently just 1/2 acre.

“It looks like the cause of this fire is a failed fuse on the power line,” said the incident commander. (Remember the details coming in on a scanner are just the first perceptions. They are not the result of a full investigation.)

UPDATE 10 a.m.: Scanner traffic indicates that the fire is contained.

Good job. A wet Winter and Spring means lush grass. Tall lush grass means high fire danger this Summer and Fall. Clear out around your buildings, and smoking in designated areas only. Not just tobacco either. 🙂
