EPD Blocked off an Area of Downtown Eureka After a Man Reportedly Brandished a Gun

A man reportedly brandished a shotgun at a motel on 4th Street this morning, according to a woman who came to pick up her daughter, said Eureka Police spokesperson Brittany Powell.

4th Street was blocked off for a time near the incident.

All these gun owning people that need them for defense and where are they when a crime happens? Not there ever! Never ready! Not doing neighborhood watch or helping with their “protection” that never does anything but be in the wrong hands. Why do we have all these guns if they never help? Just for crime by drug addicts.

I think the funniest comment from EPD was”were going to start cracking down on adults on bicycles”
