Hooded Man Sprays Bear Mace at Clerk and Makes Off With Money and Customer’s Bike
This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On Saturday morning 4-22-2017 at around 01:40 AM, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the McKinleyville Freeway 76 station, located at 1021 Murry Road.
The clerk reported that a white male wearing a blue or black hoodie with blue eyes and light colored eyebrows entered the store, where he demanded the money from the register and deployed bear mace next to the clerk.
The suspect left on an unsecured bicycle that he stole from a customer who was inside the store. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash heading east on Murry Road.
Several H.C.S.O. units responded to the area to look for the suspect, but were unable to locate him. The investigation is ongoing.

Wow! That sucks!
It would be nice if the store owner replaced his customer’s bicycle. The owner can probably absorb that cost better than his customer.
By now you would think that the owners would come up a alternative for after hours that would provide more safety for employees. A walk up security window that doesn’t allow customers into the store.
Isn’t this like the 5th time that store has been robbed?
That place gets robbed all the time. A cage for the clerks would be nice,but the owner won’t do anything!!
76 has been robbed more times than any other gas station in Humboldt County I bet you couldn’t pay me enough to work in that place
