Flower Crab Spiders live in different blooms here in Humboldt. This one can be found in the Calla Lily now but, when the lilies quit blooming, these chameleon spiders change color (usually to yellow) and lurk in other similar colored flowers. There they ambush their prey. When they pounce on and bite their prey, their venom paralyzes the other creature eventually liquefying the insides and allowing the Flower Crab spider to dine easily.
