Another young life over!! My only question lately is why?Drugs and alcohol have ruined so many lives,in so many ways. That’s not all there is in life. Where’s people’s pride in themselfs. This is not the wild wild west anymore I think.im not saying drugs had anything to do with it.just guessing

In my heart sometimes I hate to say where I live or come from! It’s so shameful,I want to curl up in a ball and scream. This isn’t my beautiful little Eureka anymore,it’s a drug den. Sad

I’m with you. Moved up to Willow Creek 45 years ago from So. Cal. and it’s been a fun, great place till about 10 years ago, then it has gradually turned to crap. Lowlifes, slackers, thieves, get rich quick punks, druggies and social dregs of all sorts. I’m ready to move out, it’s not the same. Turning for the worse.

That’s alright. Drugs have always been, and will always be, something to blame bad behavior on.

Depending on whose statistics you want to believe drugs and or alcohol are involved in over half to as high as 80% of the committed crimes in the USA.

Young people today has a quick and volatile temper and they need to check themselves. This macho image is not at all cool. When you take a life over a senseless argument is totally ridiculous. You can’t always blame it on rap music, drugs, or anything else. No rapper, no drugs, or anything else instructed you to pick up a knife or gun and take another person’s life. Sorry for the loss of the HSU student and for the family of the young man that have committed murder and thrown his life down the toilet over a stupid argument. Hope he has time to sit in the Humboldt County Jail and repent his sins for what he has done. He has caused collateral damage on both sides. Murdering a person because of their skin color is NO JOKE. This is real life! Hope you young kids and adults get the message that this is not cool. Peace Out! If these young guys wants to fight join the United States Military.

Lived here 20+ years and it was basically the same back then except more poor people in general in our country now. Only communities that ensure housing and QUALITY treatment and support avoid the sort of outpatient ward and destitution we see rampant in our community.

Really Memy , what exactly does ensure housing and Quality treatment and support mean. Why is not paying for everything for every unmotivated individual always the reason for poor behavior. Where are these towns located the you reference, please list 3 for our readers. This same blame liberal entitlement bullshit is what has gotten us to where we presently our concerning drugs, crime, and general disrespect. This was a criminal act perpetrated by a criminal not a victim of his environment or lack of services. The key to fixing the problem is not greater support but greater accountability, your way isn’t working Memy.

Sad to hear of a young life passing on. When it comes to the solution, i think respect for all goes a long way to creating peace.

I have yet to hear any details on who did it or what really occurred. Someone here mentioned race. Do they know that was the reason?

I lived on Spear Avenue in the early 80s while attending HSU. Violence was unheard of.

My thoughts are with the family of the victim.
