[UPDATE 3:10 p.m.] Pursuit South of Eureka in the Humboldt Hill Area
Law enforcement is pursuing a Nissan Maxima on Elk River Road near Eureka for failure to yield. The driver is a white female adult with brown hair. There are several passengers.
As of 7:52 a.m., the vehicle is traveling about 15 miles per hour past Berta Road.
As of 7:54, they are on Valley Drive passing Tanglewood.
The vehicle is possibly involved in a burglary.
UPDATE 8 a.m.: The vehicle is turning into a private driveway.
UPDATE 8:06 a.m.: A male subject fled possibly armed with a handgun, according to scanner traffic. A K-9 has been requested.
UPDATE 8:32 a.m.: Law enforcement are at the bottom of the hill on Berta. A K-9 is on scene.
UPDATE 3:10 p.m.: Operation Safe Streets pointed us to some more information. According to the Facebook site, “The male fled into the woods and the female was detained. Although it was difficult to hear because of cross traffic from other agencies, it appeared the suspect was detained at approx 0918 after a K9 was deployed.”
We’re hoping for more information from the Sheriff’s Department later today.
