Mogtx, the thieves took “several firearms.” No sense in having them if you can’t use them when you need them.

Not good, more guns out there in the hands of ASSHOLES looking for more people to hurt. We have guns but there locked up. I don’t like guns but we’ve been hit 3 times in our family. We must protect our selfs. I will use what I can to protect my family,so please don’t come to my home again!! Please take care folks✌

That’s the scariest part about living around here, you don’t have to be in the industry to get robbed. So many robberies are just random invasions in hopes that there is weed or money there. I’m so glad this guy didn’t loose his life, I hope he makes a speedy recovery mentally and physically.

Home invasion should carry Capitol punishment, the home is a sacred place where your familly lives.Entering it uninvited to do harm or steal deserves the death penalty preferably at the instant it happens.Im no fan of Texas but they have it right on their laws on this subject

Growing in those mountains brings criminality so I suggest that if your home & family are truly sacred to you, act like it and get a real JOB!

I know the victim in this incident & he is a high profile member of the Laytonville community. He’s lived there all his life, his family made their living in real estate & he carried on that tradition for awhile & was a builder (maybe contractor, I don’t remember) for many years. Generally, he is regarded as a good guy by locals & is well known & respected. His ways & means are no secret & he was the victim of a home invasion 25 or so years ago. I know his property is fenced, gated & there is a security system. Something obviously went wrong/failed. I’m just glad it wasn’t any worse than it was & I feel so bad that he has to suffer the physical & emotional trauma of such an event again. I hope the perpetrators are soon caught & that he has a speedy recovery.
