Three Firearms Located With Felon, Says Sheriff’s Office

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Shadrach LamoureuxOn 04-08-17, Deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office were on patrol in the 100 block of Empire Avenue, Redway when they noticed silver colored Toyota Tacoma parked partially in the roadway. Deputies learned prior to approaching the vehicle the registered owner of the vehicle had a warrant for his arrest for being a Felon in Possession of Ammunition. As deputies approached the vehicle, they noticed a male subject later identified as Shadrach Lamoureux asleep in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.

Deputies made contact with Lamoureux who admitted to having a handgun in his waistband. Deputies removed the loaded firearm from his waistband and Lamoureux was detained. Deputies located an additional loaded firearm in his coat pocket and another firearm stuffed between the passenger seat and center console.

Lamoureux was consequently arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was to be booked for the warrant and the following charges: PC 29800(a) Felon in Possession of a Firearm, PC 25400(a) Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and PC 30305(a) Prohibited Person from Possessing Ammunition. Lamoureux’s bail was set at $50,000 for the warrant and an additional $50,000 for the fresh charges.

NODDED…. Now there is an interesting word .V.S. NODDING. Is NODDING still in the process of becoming completely NODDED? So is the far, far, far, past tense of NODDED…. NO DEAD?… YET?

I probably made it up, but I think it it fit the situation, as nodding would indicate he was still partially awake.

Now what was he really up to with all that loaded fire power at hand? So smart = sleeping with one loaded in his waistband….

So this guy had a vehicle registered in his name and had a warrant. Wouldn’t you think the sheriffs could locate him with the registered info???? He would be in DMV data base. Hope they learned a lesson that he could have killed someone because they don’t go after people with warrants. We will probably see him here again within a month. Instead of arresting drunks 5-6 times a week, do a little ‘leg’ work and go after these guys. Good job on this one, though.

Poor guy. Hope he was able to get a volume discount on ammo. Feeding those three guns could be expensive!

I wish “felon in possession” was taken more seriously. It seems the punishment isn’t much of a deterrent. I’m a firm believer in gun rights, but with those right comes a tremendous responsibility. People who violate gun laws give the rest of us a bad name, especially when all they get is a slap on the wrist. I say make it hurt.

It is called being prepared. It is a dangerous world.
I have a CCW and carry and least 2 at all times. I am not scared at all.
Most people I know in S. Humboldt who have a permit usually carry two also.
It used to be that you could have as many guns as you wanted on your permit, but since the State took over issuing CCW’s, you are now limited to 3.

Right, and maybe 3 guns is what you need when sleeping in Redway?

Two is one. One is none. I usually carry 3 in the winter two in the summer (bulkier clothing). I feel safe no matter where I go. But I don’t sleep in my truck in redway lol o and I’m not a felon, and I have my ccw. The 3 gun thing is ridiculous to me. if it’s registered to you and you can hit your target you should be able to carry it if you already have your ccw.

Your permit doesn’t allow you to carry more than one at a time. 3 weapons may be listed but not carried all together. One at a time as far as I know

Especially in Redway.
Whenever I take a nap in my truck, I always nap with a weapon in my hand. It is very hard and slow to draw a weapon when you are sitting in vehicle, you are better off to have it ready to go.
