Fire at Old Sammy’s Barbecue

A firefighter checks out the roof of the restaurant. [All pictures by Mark McKenna]

A fire was reported at the old Sammy’s Barbecue at 1125 King Salmon Avenue around 8:30 this morning. Flames were reported seen with people using hoses (we assume garden hoses) to try and put the fire out. Humboldt Bay Fire responded and saw light smoke coming from the building. It appears to be not a very big fire. Our reporter was on-scene and sent these pics.

They ever reopening this location? When the new one opened up they kept telling people they’d keep the old one too, but that was before the flooding.
