Reminds me of the old George Carlin joke:

Newscaster: “A man has barricaded himself in his home. He is not armed and is harming no one. Film at eleven.”

Armed and dangerous, with three felony warrants isn’t a harmless person

Hope the man calms down and communicates with the LEO’s.

And……safety for all who are involved in this incident.

What does “responded for a welfare check ” really mean? It seems like maybe leo was on a fishing trip here, without authorization. A knock and talk. No call for help, nobody a hostage. A criminal warrant for an individual doesn’t transfer to a property that is not open to the general public. If the house is publicly accessible, no locked gate, visible from the street, then they have a legal right to walk up the sidewalk. But if the place is gated, then they need an address-specific warrant to enter the curtilage. So, is a “welfare check” an excuse to check if the guy was there?

A welfare check is usually done when someone calls the police and says they are worried about a relative or friend, usually due to fact that that person usually contacts them on a regular basis, but has suddenly and unexplainably stopped doing so, and the concerned person has not been able to get back in contact with them. There are also sometimes extenuating circumstances for their concern which can range from the person whom they are concerned about being recently very ill, to that person being potentially suicidal, etc. The police will then go to that persons residence (the address reported to them by the concerned party), and do a check of that person’s welfare. Though I would think that if the person they are checking the welfare of has been reported by the concerned party to have mental illness, violent tendencies, or even weapons in their home, etc., the police probably then do some kind of records check to see if this person has any prior contacts with them an/or may be a risk to officer safety and to other people around him/her. And that check would probably also include a warrants check as well. Though not all warrants are the same. Some they will arrest you for, and others, they may not For example, a felony murder warrant will get an instant trip to the hoosegow, where as a single FTA warrant for your Failure To Appear in court after being cited and released for shoplifting a $20 pair of pants from Target two weeks ago will most likely not.

G.C. In other news, a one armed man was arrested today in a city park lake. He was accused of annoying other boaters by continually rowing 🚣 in circles. Film at eleven.

Is it that house with like 50 plus plants filling the backyard( 3rd house on the right)? It’s crazy they just let people blow up like that all over Willow Creek! I’d be super crazy nervous if I was that house or even next door
It all shows up on Google Earth and there are many armed thieves in that area!

Well if they weren’t nervous before they probably are now! And if these ,”armed thieves” didn’t know about the place before they do now!

Just another local felon problem child with warrants. Some of you guys need to dig a little deeper before you make your assessment of this fellow.

Shitshow county. No that wasn’t the house. But mind your own business. It’s a domestic violence situation. Nothing to do with weed. Get it straight. The victim is likely traumatized

This guy has been arrested so many times. He’s a loose cannon, always was a menace in the neighborhood as a kid, now he’s an adult terrorizing ex girlfriends and violating restraining orders. Nothing sticks.

He doesn’t ever learn his lesson. What’s it going to take? Is he going to have to kill someone for the system to get him some help?

Kason has always been a friendly guy. But he has never exhibited a whole lot of common sense. Few bricks shy of a load.
