As a result of a three month long investigation Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force learned there was a vehicle traveling to Humboldt County from the Bakersfield area transporting a significant quantity of methamphetamine.

Agents secured a search warrant for the vehicle and all of its occupants. On 03-17-17 at about 0445 hours Agents spotted the vehicle traveling northbound Hwy 101 near Cooks Valley. With assistance from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, Special Agents conducted a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle near Benbow Drive and Hwy 101.

Once the vehicle was stopped Agents were able to determine the vehicle was being driven by 48 year old Joseph Garner.

I have had near death experiences that have left me certain that God and Jesus both exist. I suspect that if you were a little more observant (the cloud thing that you said to River Rat) you would know this too. Mind, body, spirit makes us whole. Don’t announce to the world that you are still searching and then insult other people for being authentic.

Yeah, i’ve had near death experiences too. There is no god. Hell is on earth. I’m really sorry you’ve spent your whole life being deceived. I’m glad you have faith, but it’s irrelevant. I’m terribly sorry…..but not really.

Please, put these citizens from Bako in a tightly sealed cell for enough time for them to think up another occupation…. Thanks to the brave and alert drug agents!

They’re probably glad they made it to Humboldt. Our judges will let them out on Monday and let them go home. A warrant will be issued, and they will be free until arrested again.

People don’t get locked up in this county. They get a place to stay and meals for a day or two, then out and told ‘Have a nice day. See ya next time’

Lets not be so negative. This is a good thing to remove this much meth off the streets of Humboldt. Two pounds which is 896 grams! How many acts of violence, assault, theft, and robbery did this stop?

I would like to see the DTF also go after the local labs. Especially the ones that are owned by the drug dealers. They could bust these labs and use the money from property seizures and forfeitures to pay for the clean ups and decontamination. These monies could also be used for training and equipment to process these drug sites, so we could eventually do the job with local contractors. This would save time and money.

This could solve some of the money problems and loss of funding that our police departments have had to deal with since 2012.

Excellent job DTF officers! Please keep up the good work so we can all enjoy our lives here in beautiful Humboldt county! Ah, the sweet smells of spring just around the corner!

For three months worth of investigative work , I would be hesitant to call that a “significant” bust. Commendable effort, however.
