[UPDATE Monday] Woman Reported Kidnapped; Law Enforcement Looking for a Silver Hyundai

Breaking news graphicAbout 6:40 p.m., emergency dispatch sent out a Be On the Lookout to law enforcement in the Eureka area. According to the dispatcher, “[A man] came into the residence, removed a female and put her into a vehicle.” The vehicle was last seen driving towards Murphy’s on Walnut Drive. The vehicle is reportedly a newer model, four door, silver Hyundai.

Check Herrick and 101 as this might be the direction the kidnapper might travel, requests one officer.

UPDATE 7 p.m.: A helicopter is being requested now.

UPDATE 7:55 p.m.: Law enforcement located an empty silver Hyundai Sonata near 12th and E Street. The vehicle had its lights on but no keys were located.

According to the scanner, the woman who was reportedly kidnapped has been located safely with her sister.

UPDATE: Stacy Hanson from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office tells us that the victim was uncooperative so they don’t have a case.
