[UPDATE 8:20 a.m.] 101 North Closed by Treefall Near Trees of Mystery

At 7 a.m. multiple trees fell across Hwy 101 near the famous tourist spot Trees of Mystery at mile marker 11.82. This completely blocked the road. At this point crews are working to get one lane open so they can alternate both northbound and southbound traffic through the area.

UPDATE 8:20 a.m.: Both lanes of traffic are open according to the California Highway Patrol Incident Page.

Tipping trees tabled travelers’ traverses towards tourist trap; tireless toilers tackling timber to transit through traffic.
