Wintery weather will persist across the Emerald Counties today. Continue to expect snow on mountain passes with rain showers and hail in lower elevations until afternoon. According to the National Weather Service, “[S]now levels will gradually rise from below 1000 feet early this morning to around 3000 feet by late afternoon/early evening, which will help melt snow from the roads at lower elevations.”

The roads already battered by earlier storms are likely to be difficult to travel today. Snow and hail are possible. Here is what we know about the roads at this point. As more information comes in, we’ll update in blue.

  • Lost in the woods

anything from today ? Pictures from yesterday don’t help knowing conditions today .

    • The photos of 101 and 299 are from today.

      • Hey Kim! From what I’m seeing on the NOAA and the National Weather Service, it looks like we may get snow down to about 400ft (no accumulation). 500ft+ will see possible accumulation, 1000ft+ 2-x inches, which should recede up to 3000ft by this evening.

    • Not looking for you

People sure like to complain, this sight is free to read,if you were being charged then maybe complaints would be acceptable.Since your not paying to be on this sight how about thanking Kym for the info instead of picking her apart about it.Or are you too lost in the woods to realize that?

  • Thanks Kym. Glad there is a trusted source of information in the area.

  • I hope everyone is safe and warm! Drive carefully if you have to be out

  • Etters have been working overtime to get the landregen bypass open. Should be passable soon. Wether permiting.
