[UPDATE 8 p.m.] Deputies Responding to Report that Shots Were Fired at a Child; High Speed Pursuit
At approximately 2:48 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department received a call reporting that shots were fired in the 100 block of Bowie Road near the Bear River Casino.
According to the report of a 10-year-old female who called 911, the two suspects known only as a Tim and Spookie “fired shots at her and her friend.”
She described a Gold Chrysler 300 as the getaway car. Listen below to the report.
An officer responding to the call spotted the car near the 76 Station on Broadway in Eureka. The officer is now in high speed pursuit southbound on Hwy 101.
UPDATE 3:05 p.m.: The suspects have fled the vehicle in King Salmon. One suspect is believed to be in Johnny’s Marina and RV Park.
UPDATE 3:11 p.m.: A preliminary search of the vehicle that was abandoned by the suspects indicates that there was no firearm located. Officers now have to consider that the suspects are armed and dangerous.
UPDATE 3:15 p.m.: An officer met with the child who reported the shots fired. She is unharmed. No one appears to be injured. The shots were reportedly fired in the wooded area at the end of Bowie Road, according to a report the officer gave.
Meanwhile, a chopper is in the air looking for the two suspects. One is reportedly in a “channel” near Johnny’s Marina in King Salmon.
UPDATE 3:17 p.m.: Both suspects were hispanic adults in their twenties with short hair, according to a report given by a deputy.

UPDATE 3:25 p.m.:UPDATE 3:28 p.m.: One in custody, according to the scanner. Law enforcement is still searching for a second subject wearing all black.
UPDATE 3:30 p.m.: A K-9 unit has been requested.
UPDATE 3:31 p.m.: Reuben Perez is in custody. Here’s a mugshot of him.
Perez was allegedly involved in a fight at the County Jail last year.

UPDATE 4:06 p.m.: Buhne Drive in King Salmon is closed at Perch as law enforcement tries to capture the second suspect. Vex, the K-9 officer is on his way to the scene. Bystanders as well as reporters are being backed away from the trailer in which officers believe the suspect is hiding.
UPDATE 4:15 p.m.: The second suspect, Timothy Scott Ramirez, has been taken into custody, according to Stacy Hanson, spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
