Memorial for Bob Huck: Talented Musician, Casual Blogger, and Beloved Local Character

Bob HuckBob Huck passed away last week. Huck was a talented musician, casual blogger, and beloved fixture at Has Beans Coffee House on 2nd Street. Fiery, opinionated, and warm-hearted.

His memorial is on Saturday the 18th at 3 p.m. in the Wharfinger building.

“We are asking everyone to bring their instruments to play and a potluck dish,” said his step-daughter, Jessica Moore.

In ’78 Bob and I were riding our Motorcycles east of Forest Glen on 36. We had camped at Ruth and we’re on the road to Redbluff for breakfast. As we climbed a long sweeping grade a condor from the then existing Yolla Bolly flock lifted from the road and then pivoted directly in front of Bob’s Harley. In one instant Bob ducked his head down to the handlebars and the massive bird caught the wind over Bob’s bike enveloping the big black Harley in its 9 foot wingspan.
I will always remember Bob that way, a rare and magnificent bird flying free.
Godspeed ol’ bird.

Wow, what a story and how amazing to see it.
I had a deer jump over me while I had just got to 100 at the bottom of a hill…nobody saw it but me.
My condolences to Huck’s family and friends…sorry I didn’t get to actually meet him.
