Man Shot in Leg by Home Invaders

Press release from Eureka Police Department:

On February 2, 2017, at about 3:02 a.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to the 1400 block of McCullens Avenue for the report that a male had been shot by an unknown suspect. Officers located the male victim laying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his upper leg. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Based on the investigation, it appears the victim woke up to at least two unknown males in his home in the process of stealing marijuana. The victim confronted the suspects and chased them out to the street where he heard a “pop” and felt a sharp pain in his leg. The suspects were last seen running south on Iowa Street.

Officers searched the area and located a trail of marijuana leading from the victim’s residence to Allard Avenue. No suspects were located. The suspects were only described as at least two males.

The victim is being treated for a serious injury to the leg. Anyone with information is asked to call the Eureka Police Department at (707) 441-4060.

You are exactly right and that is what I’m doing. I’m growing and giving it away to needy friends to keep them out of the greedy dispensaries.

Why would you imagine it will stop overnight? Once it is a freely available as booze, these
thugs will have no profit.

Getting robbed and shot is a well know risk inherent in the producing and selling of black market street drugs. It will happen again soon, and again, and again. Glad there weren’t any children involved.

Now that it is semi legal…do you think this kind of crime will fade…or will it increase because criminals are too lazy to plant a garden…plus the rules are too complex & costly for people of limited intelligence and resources to follow?

I sure wish I knew, Vf. I’m thinking that where people of bawlz’ level of intelligence congregate, there will be plenty of substitute “crimes” and “criminals” to keep the machine grinding.
