Accident on the Slough Bridge

Garbage cans falling from a vehicle caused a three vehicle accident on the Eureka Slough Bridge about 2:27 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol Incident page.

A red mini van, blue SUV and another vehicle struck each other. An ambulance has been requested.

“We have two patients. One with moderate and one with minor injuries,” according to a report from emergency personnel on the scene.

UPDATE 3:05 p.m.: Traffic is backed up to 5th and V in Eureka.
