[UPDATE 10:25 a.m.] Armed Robbery at C&V Market in Eureka

At approximately 7:48 p.m., a black male adult brandished a handgun in C & V Market in the 1600 block of F Street in Eureka. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the thief fled out the back of the building and was last seen on foot on E Street.

The suspect is described as slim and approximately 6″4″. He was last seen wearing a black jacket. The weapon is described as a small black semi-automatic firearm.

UPDATE 10:25 a.m.: Press release from the Eureka Police Department:

On January 10, 2017, at about 7:48 p.m., Officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to a market on the 1600 block of F Street for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

The suspect entered the market and brandished a black firearm and demanded money from the register. The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was last seen running north on E Street. The suspect was described as possibly a black male, 6’4”, thin build, wearing dark clothing and a mask.

Officers searched the vicinity but were unable to locate the suspect. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Eureka Police Department at (707) 441-4060.
