[UPDATE 5:09 p.m.] Assault Near the Samoa Bridge
At approximately 4:40 p.m., a man reported being stabbed near the Samoa Bridge. The victim, who was still able to walk, was waiting for assistance at 1600 Waterfront Drive under the bridge.
The victim stated he was robbed and the two perpetrators fled east on Waterfront Drive.
UPDATE 4:54 p.m.: According to our reporter Mark McKenna who is on the scene, the victim is bleeding from the head but he is still standing.
UPDATE 5:09 p.m.: Our reporter spoke to Officer Cory Crnich of the Eureka Police Department. The victim told the officer that two males and one female robbed and assaulted him taking his cell phone and some clothing and fled east on Waterfront. Though the original report said that the victim had been stabbed, he had no stab wound.
