[Audio] ‘Zelda’ lore links with our redwoods; Humboldt’s last week of news

In the latest episode of Humboldt Last Week: The mega Nintendo franchise Zelda is now lightly linked with our redwoods. An award-winning digital media company called Ember Lab recently shot scenes in the Humboldt redwoods for a short film called “Majora’s Mask – Terrible Fate.” Popular website Mashable wrote it “leaves you wishing for that [rumored Zelda] Netflix series.”

Using high-quality equipment and digital animation with Humboldt Redwoods State Park, the footage they captured was stunning.

“…The locals were really helpful,” said Josh Grier of Ember Lab. “We ended up shooting everything near the Grieg-French-Bell Grove. The location was amazingly beautiful and perfect for filming — we could capture all of our shots within a quarter mile of the road making carrying equipment much easier… The natural beauty of Humboldt really helped add to the world we were trying to create and fit the Zelda universe perfectly.”

Here’s a link to the short film.

What a beautiful short! It seems a lot of film makers, from big groups to independent artists, are discovering Humboldt again.
