Alleged Serial Killer Lived in Eureka Just Prior to His Arrest This Month

Silas Duane Boston, a former resident of Sea View Rehabilitation & Wellness Center of Eureka, was arrested and indicted earlier this month for the murders of three victims. One of the victims was his wife, Mary Lou Boston, the mother of several of his children.

Recently, when law enforcement looked into Mary Lou’s 1968 disappearance, new information surfaced about Silas Boston’s alleged involvement in the murders of a young British couple–Christopher Farmer and his girlfriend, Peta Frampton. Boston allegedly hogtied them and threw them off his yacht where they drowned in 1978 off the shores of Belize in the Caribbean Sea.

Boston’s sons claim to have witnessed the events that led up to the tourist couple’s death. According to Vince and Russell Boston, Silas’s sons, the two British tourists had paid Boston to take them sailing on his yacht. Vince and Russell Boston, 11 and 13 years, traveled on the ship also.

Vince and Russell claim to have watched their father kill the victims. Farmer was first beaten with a billy club and then Boston attempted to stab him with a filet knife to the chest but it broke. Boston then managed to hogtie Farmer and Frampton. He covered their heads with bags prior to throwing them overboard to drown. Their bodies were discovered near a small fishing village in Guatemala in July of 1978, at least a week after their disappearance.

Both sons told the FBI they feared for their lives, and they remained silent for over 38 years about the couple’s death. They also concealed their father’s confessions to them about the death of their mother.

A family friend confirmed to investigators that Silas Boston had told him many of the details about the murders of the tourist couple. The friend said that Boston had also confessed to shooting Mary Lou Boston. He also alleged that Silas Boston had told him of other deaths he was responsible for including an as yet unverified hit-and-run incident in Sacramento in 1972 and the unconfirmed shooting of three drug dealers for allegedly assaulting a female friend of his.

Earlier this month, the 75-year-old alleged serial killer was transferred from Eureka to a convalescent home in Paradise, California. There he was apprehended for the alleged murder of his previous wife. Due to the gruesome details that Boston’s sons told investigators when approached about their mother’s disappearance 48 years ago and other compelling evidence, the charges for the young British couple’s murders were added to his case.

A former employee of Seaview, who assisted Boston daily, expressed her surprise about her former client stating, “I was face to face with him everyday; it’s scary to realize that I was conversing with an alleged serial killer.”

On December 8th, the judge introduced a not guilty plea on behalf of Silas Boston to two counts of the ‘maritime murder’ at his hearing in Sacramento, California. The next court date is scheduled on January 10, 2017.

Right on Patti. You hit the nail on the head. I don’t see anyone lining up to work there. It has potential. As all of the SNF in the area. They can’t even fill cook position. They just want to point fingers from the outside. They need more local staff who genuinely care and have their heart and soul in it

Devil’s lettuce, serial killers, hash labs blowing up McKinleyville and anywhere else the toxic vibe spills into…

Disgusting!

Marine Division, bring growers to justice, turn their property into preserve.
.After a trial, convicted growers should be deported to North Korea by high altitude aircraft.
. Dumping convicted growers in North Korea will clean and once again allow children to attend school.

The only way to save things is having The Marines deal with terrorist, growers and create a better world.

“With realization of one’s own potential and self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world.”
— Dalai Lama

Since periods of change such as the present one come so rarely in human history, it is up to each of us to make the best use of our time to help create a happier world.
— The Dalai Lama

“You are the people who are shaping a better world. One of the secrets of inner peace is the practice of compassion.”
— Dalai Lama

“You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end each of us must work for his or her own improvement, and at the same time share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful.”
— Marie Curie

“You never change the existing reality by fighting it. Instead, create a new model that makes the old one obsolete.”
— R. Buckminster Fuller

“We must build a new world, a far better world — one in which the eternal dignity of man is respected.”
— Harry S. Truman

“I better quit my talking ’cause I told you all I know But please remember, pardner, wherever you may go The people are building a peaceful world, and when the job is done, That’ll be the biggest thing that man has ever done.”
— Woody Guthrie

I wonder how many others he has killed? It’s hard to believe an unhinged madman like that just stopped after that boat episode and got mellow. Maybe some other families will get closure soon…even some families around here.

That’s what I was thinking. Why did he mellow out after killing these people? Could there be other folks that met a terrible end by this man?

He does not have any money. He had a small pension from the military. The “yacht” was a sail boat bought by his father that was helping him run away from the law on a statutory rape charge in the US and was handmade by Belizean shipbuilders in 1978 for a pittance.
He can be a charming, charismatic man with interesting stories and a “devil may care”, free spirit attitude, but in reality is a sociopath only interested in himself and how he can use other people. He murdered his second wife in cold blood when she wanted to divorce him and used his kids for welfare money and food stamps. He rarely worked and supplemented the kid’s welfare money by robbing people’s houses, sometimes after tying them up if they were home. He never stayed in one place too long and lived a number of years in Mexico where it was cheap and he could escape US justice.

It would be interesting to put together a time/location line to see if he can be tied to any missing people or found remains in the area
