[Captured] Man Runs Off With Two Handguns (Now With Video)
On December 26, 2016, at about 4:57 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to a sporting goods store on the 3600 block of Broadway for the report of a theft of two handguns.
Based on employee statements and surveillance, it appears the male suspect loitered inside the business before talking to employees about two handguns. While holding the handguns, the male suspect quickly fled out of the business. The male was last seen running east on Allard Avenue from Broadway.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his 20’s, thin build. He was wearing a red hat, glasses, gray sweatshirt, tan cargo pants, blue and white shoes, and a blue bandana around his neck.
Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to call the Eureka Police Department.
Update: Now with video of the suspect failing to smoothly exit the scene.
UPDATE 7:16 p.m.: According to Chief Andrew Mills, the Lollipop Bandit was captured. “Officers got him [with] a gun,” he confirmed. We’ll update with more details when we learn them.
UPDATE 8:11 p.m.: The suspect is David Aumiller.

Wow! I thought they were only allowed to remove one item at a time? Same with jewelry stores. I hope they get them. We all know where they will end up… local heroin dealers.
Or sold/traded to gangs in eureka, guns are one of their money makers
What does this idiot have in his mouth–a Tootsie Roll Pop? Fake glasses and a lollipop. Real class act.
I wouldn’t let someone who looks like that, hold my kids BB gun.
Employee responsible should be fired! Too f.ckin dumb to work at a gun shop.
( Truthy ) I totally agree.
I agree. But out of fairness, they always pull more than one out at a time for myself or wife when we go shopping for guns at sportsmans wharehouse in Redding. I’m not sure about the law on that, but I agree the employee should’ve been much more careful, especially with a guy wearing a bandanna around neck.
My guess is that the bandana is hiding distinguishable neck tats.
Roger that. Good point.
Usually when showing a semi auto there is no magazine in the weapon. I hope that is the case here.
Is this the next stop and rob bandit? One made every minute. [edit]
Too bad he didn’t run out in front of a speeding garbage truck
He’s been caught. I’m sure someone watching the news turned him in.
Didn’t say if the guns were recovered. I certainly hope the were.
Thanks for getting this POS off the street that he kissed trying to get away. Let’s hope all the guns are found.
Hey gun theft suspect David Aumiller – did you enjoy your trip?
