On Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at approximately 7:52 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible kidnapping that had just occurred at a residence on the 400 block of Pine Creek Road in Hoopa.  It was reported 21 year old Travis Dillan Watson gained access to a family member’s residence by breaking out a window, entering the residence and removing his daughter.  Watson then fled the scene in his vehicle while holding his daughter on his lap.  While fleeing the scene, Watson rammed a vehicle at the family member’s residence causing significant damage to the other vehicle.  Watson then continued to flee the scene in his vehicle with his unrestrained 19 month old daughter.

Deputies quickly located the suspected vehicle at the 3000 block of Hwy 96.  Watson was arrested without incident and taken to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for child endangerment, felony vandalism, trespassing, probation violation and an outstanding warrant for assault with a firearm.  His bail was set at $50,000.  Watson’s daughter was uninjured and released to family members.

Glad the child is ok. He deserves Criminal prosecution for endangering his daughter, she was unrestrained and he rammed another vehicle. It could easily have turned out much worse. His fault totally. Put the blame where it belongs. H.B.C

Why? This family might need to use their expertise. If the legal people choked, this family and others would be out. Having a need for that expertise is a bummer, but the need can be real.

I hope the people they’re with know the Heimlich, so if they choke, it’ll be ok.
