Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in a high speed chase that began in the Ukiah area about 7:41 p.m. as a stop for a suspected DUI.

According to the MendocinoSportsPlus Facebook page, “The Ukiah Police [were] in a high-speed pursuit …of a black Kia Voyage with red paper plates.” The author of that site stated that they had reached “a top speed of 117 mph” and that the vehicle had been involved in another high speed chase but escaped law enforcement at that time.

The Mendocino Voice, our sister website, explained that during the chase “the suspect fired a handgun out the window of his car” one time. Then the suspect fled “down into the creek in back of the Willits Safeway, where he was apprehended.”
