As of 4:55 p.m. an ambulance is responding to 6th and N streets in Eureka following a two vehicle traffic collision, according to scanner traffic. At least one person is injured and one lane of 6th Street is blocked.
UPDATE 5:22 p.m.:
Our reporter, Mark McKenna, tells us,
A Jeep Laredo and Nissan Sentra collided at the intersection of 6th and N streets just before 5 p.m. today. Because of a language barrier with one of the involved parties, a translator from Humboldt Bay Fire was brought in to assist with the investigation.
A person in the front passenger seat of the Sentra was transported to St. Joseph’s hospital with unknown injuries.
The airbags deployed in the Sentra.

Maybe we should all learn Native American instead.
