Brrr….Weatherman Says Snow Coming in the Mountains

snow graphic

According to the National Weather Service who posted the above graphic, snow will fall above 2500 to 3500 feet in the interior mountains of Humboldt and Del Norte tonight.

They wrote,

Snow showers may impact travel over the mountain passes of Northwest California tonight. One to three inches of snow will likely accumulate around Berry Summit on highway 299 tonight. One to two inches of snow may also fall at Collier Tunnel on highway 199. Less than an inch of snow is expected over South Fork Mountain Summit, Buckhorn Summit and Oregon Mountain Summit. If you are planning travel over the mountain passes tonight, be ready for some snow on the roads. Check road conditions and be ready for wintery driving conditions if venturing into the high country.

Wishing all — light hearts, warm hearths, snowy sceneries.

” … remembered such days … childhood in the mountains, rare moments of escape … into the woods … voice somehow muffled by the heavy snow that bent branches low, drifted over paths. The world, for a few short hours, transformed.”

If I did not know better, I would say it is December.
