Two Captured After Home Invasion and High Speed Chase; One Still Sought

Thompson and

From left to right: Eaisley and Thompson

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty::

On Thursday, December 1, 2016 at approximately 6:58 p.m. Humboldt County Deputy Sheriffs were dispatched to a report of an in-progress home invasion robbery in Fieldbrook. While en route, the suspect vehicle, a black GMC Yukon with Missouri license plates, passed deputies at a high rate of speed in the opposite direction, westbound on Murray Rd from Central Ave in McKinleyville.

Deputies pursued the vehicle, and requested the assistance of the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The suspect vehicle began travelling northbound on Hwy 101. The pursuit continued and reached speeds of 100 mph.

The pursuit ended when the suspects entered Loop Place in Westhaven and drove through the front yard of a residence, stopping at the edge of a steep embankment. The three occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot. Two of the suspects were immediately apprehended by deputies. The third suspect fled down a steep embankment evading deputies.

Deputies, with the assistance of CHP, Arcata Police Department’s K-9 unit, CHP Airship, and US Coast Guard Helicopter, searched the area for the third suspect but were unable to locate him. A searched of the suspect’s vehicle revealed 3 large duffle bags containing at least 50 lbs of processed marijuana, two stun gun flashlights, a silver iPhone, a Missouri ID belonging to Robert Lee Bruce, Jr., one box of ammunition, and a backpack containing rubber gloves, zip ties, tape, and two t-shirts. No firearm was located in the vehicle or the surrounding area.

The driver was identified as 29 year old Norvell Eaisley, of Missouri. The passenger was identified as 31 year old Charleston Jomband Thompson, also from Missouri. The third suspect is described as a black male adult with short hair, wearing a green jacket and green pants. The third suspect matches the description on the Missouri ID found in the vehicle.

Eaisley was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for possession of a controlled substance for sales, evading a peace officer with wanton disregard of safety, resisting arrest, and transportation of a controlled substance. Eaisley’s bail was set at $75,000.document Thompson was also transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for possession of a controlled substance for sales and resisting arrest. Thompson’s bail was set at $50,000.document-1

Additional deputies responded to the 900 block of Ford St in Fieldbrook, where the alleged home invasion robbery was reported to have occurred. Deputies conducted a public safety search of the residence but were unable to locate any victims. The residence showed no evidence of a struggle or that any crime had occurred. This investigation is currently ongoing.

Anyone with information for the Sheriff’s Office regarding this case or related criminal activity is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 707-445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at 707-268-2539.

$75,000 and $50,000 bail for a home invasion with evidence of Kidnapping supplies. Our District attorney needs to step up bail on violent offenders .This is crazy they are probably out already gearing up for another robbery hopefully the next one docent go wrong with someone getting killed or kidnapped.
Humboldt county needs to send a message to out of town thugs that we will not put up with this kind of violence .Instead Humboldt sent a clear message about our revolving door policy’s .

Yep, and it all started when the great enabler of a DA Paul Gallegos slapped on the wrists all his grow friends, and was the plea bargain king for the County for…..8 or 12 years? 3 terms I believe, elected, then re-elected and again.
Blame it on the [edit]voters around here who still think the whole grow scene is fine and dandy and romanticize the whole aspect of it.

Sad, pathetic place we are in now!!

Plea bargaining is pretty universal in this entire nation’s courts.
Gallegos had pretty sensible policy on cannabis IMO
Home invasion is a violent crime & the bail ought to reflect that…and probably will when these guys are arraigned.
Thake a deep breath.

Maybe the DA wants the bail to be low enough that they will bail-out, skip town, and never come back. Think of the money that would be saved. That’s probably how they ended up here…

These guys were children at one time. Have respect for their loved ones. I feel so sorry for them that they feel a need to steal. Marijuana is a wonderful healing herb and there is no crime around it. We should accept everybody and encourage them to come here and grow weed. Weed growers are all wonderful healers and all weed is medicinal. Love is the only answer! There will be no collapse of our local economy- prices will allow corporations to blow up huge scenes and we will all provide high-end boutique product. Legalization is great- we will prosper. Dope growers are all about community. Gallegos was a visionary and a real hero. If you can dream it you can do it! Imagine beautiful things and they will all manifest! Sympathy to the victims but also the criminals- they just need love. Hey- we should tell everybody how awesome it is to grow weed in Humboldt so they can all come and enrich our community!

[edit] Let them live next to your house. And try to grow weed. These types of people won’t grow weed. they’ll come over with zip ties and steal yours. You obviously don’t live in reality.

Might have been better to let them go east and get caught with the lettuce in Texas where terrorists are dealt with.
Now they will have to do parole where the crime was committed.

Texas knows how to handle those that destroy communities and lives with devil’s lettuce.

Sounds like Robert Lee Bruce might be wandering the hillsides around Westhaven. Damn and it was cold last night.

Even if the DA doesn’t toughen up, a dufflebag of weed will only be worth as much as a sack of potatoes by the end of 2017.

Yeah, because corporations love lowering established prices on commodities…

$800-1000/lbs? Sure. But this notion that weed will soon be valueless is crazy. The patchwork way we’ve allowed states to go about having varying degrees of criminality means there will be a domestic black market somewhere for another decade, give or take. And if not? Start exporting!

They didn’t decriminalize it so there will obviously still be a black market

They will, think Trump will sit back and watch states make big tax money on it and not want a share of the money. Trump will want his cut asap, and how many corporations will line his pockets to legalize it, and they all distribute worldwide. 2 years or less , 10 is a pipe dream

When they went off the road and all three started running, two were caught right away, but the deputy chasing the third one radioed that it looked like a female. It sounds like when they found the extra ID they realized the she was a he.

Awesome, 2 more bumpkins from out of state to spend county resources on – is there an extra seat on that Alabama-extradition bus? Seriously this robbery thing is out of hand! How many Home Invasions go off unreported? Kym, the 1st hand account of the foiled Mad River Mac-10 robbers was informative and illuminating while these LE press releases are weak! Give the public more details and paint a picture of how these incidents go down; were these dudes business associates? Did Popeyes’ cousin tip them off for a cut? Totally random? The stories one hears from the Emerald Underbelly often eclipse fiction and I for one am all-ears for any anecdotes my fellow commenters care to share.

super simple solution: completely decriminalize marijuana, no more crime related to marijuana.
